Authors, please note the important change which becomes effective on 01 April 2021. The change is introduced to protect the identity and integrity of all T IE authors. From this date it becomes a MANDATORY requirement that the PRIMARY e-mail address of all authors listed in a submission is an INSTITUTIONAL one. Non-institutional e-mail addresses can only be used as the secondary e-mails. Papers that do not comply with this requirement will NOT be put in the review process. Read more...

Authors, please note: submission policy has changed on 01 July 2020. TIE has switched to "single-blind" peer review process, where the identities of the reviewers are not known to the authors, but the reviewers know the identities of the authors. New article templates are available:

At this time of health crisis worldwide, TIE continues to operate normally. We however recognise that many of our authors, reviewers and editors are affected in one way or the other by the Covid-19 spread. If you need additional time to complete any of your tasks, be it review of a paper or submission of a revised version, please contact the journal administrator, Ms Samantha Jacobs. IEEE T IE is an application oriented engineering journal. It is therefore expected that all submissions will contain experimental verification of the novel theoretical concepts, given in the paper. Papers not containing experimental results should therefore not be submitted since they will be subject to an 'Immediate reject' decision. An experimental rig, which must be used by the authors for verification, must contain hardware components other than a PC/laptop.

Prof. Emil Levi is formally working as new EiC from January 1, 2019. Also, the editorial board has been renewed. All the best in your new roles and thanks a lot to those who ended their terms.

It is a great pleasure for us to inform that one of our co-EiCs, professor Kouhei Ohnishi received a highest distinction: the Medal with Purple Ribbon in Japan.

Updated the TIE Rank in the JCR last edition 2015

All IEEE journals require an Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID) for all authors. ORCIDs enable accurate attribution and improved discoverability of an author's published work. The author will need a registered ORCID in order to submit a manuscript or review a proof in this journal.

Follow these steps to link a ScholarOne account to a registered ORCID:

1. Login to ScholarOne and click on your name in the top right corner of the screen.
2. Click E-mail / Name in the dropdown menu.
3. In the ORCID section at the top of the page, click the appropriate link to either register for a new ORCID or associate the account with an existing ORCID.
4. A new page will open to create and/or validate your ORCID. Once the validation is complete, the new page will close and you will return to ScholarOne.
5. Save the changes to your ScholarOne user account.

Authors who do not have an ORCID in their ScholarOne user account will be prompted to provide one during submission.
